Janice Calloway

Camps: Week 2: Storybook Studios
I’ve spent the last 14 years as a preschool teacher working at Little People of Somers, where I’ve found purpose and joy in my work. I’m a proud mom of three amazing girls: Emily, a compassionate social worker; Hayley, who’s about to graduate from Northeastern University; and Katie, who’s just starting her journey at the University of South Carolina. In my free time, I love to unwind with a good book, get creative with coloring, and enjoy the strategy and fun of mahjong with friends.

Juliette Lawless

Camps: Week 1: Sweet Treats, Week 5: All Aboard
As a passionate continuing artist, I am always eager to work with new materials. My current work centers around illustration and mixed media. I hold a bachelor’s in Fine Art and a master’s in Art Education. I’ve spent the past three years teaching middle school art where I discovered the joy of helping others express themselves creatively. I believe each artist’s journey is unique. I emphasize the importance of approach and self-expression to create a space for individuals to freely explore, experiment, and grow with the support of technique.

Jamie Milligan

Camps: Week 6: Fired Up! Teen Clay
Jamie has been drawing, painting, and sculpting since before she could walk. At an early age she knew that art would always be her life, which ended up taking her to many interesting and unique places.  Jamie attended NYU where she was one of 35 students selected to be in the Studio Art program.  While attending NYU, she worked for any artist she could find who was willing to let her in on their process.  During the summers she taught painting, drawing, and sculpture at The Huntington School of Fine Arts working with young students to create college portfolios.  After graduating NYU, she was part of a small group of production artists creating lamps, tableware, and home décor.  Her love for teaching lead her to the 92nd Street Y where she taught art classes to amazing young artists in NYC.  After a small break to create two little human beings, she is excited to get back to sharing her love and passion of art with others.

Melissa Monahan

Camps: Week 2: Storybook Studios
I am an assistant pre-school teacher at a local preschool and have over 20 years of experience in the early childhood field. I live in Granite Springs with my husband Tim and our two sons, Timothy and Michael. Timothy is getting ready to attend college in the fall and Michael will be a junior in high school.
I have an A.A.S in Early Childhood Education from Westchester Community College. I have experience working in a classroom setting as well various camps and after school enrichment programs including cooking, science, and stay and play activities. I take pride in being a caring and compassionate teacher who encourages students to learn through play. I believe wholeheartedly in inclusion for all children, and have the desire to identify and nurture the individualized needs of each child.

I loved art as a child and still to this day as an adult enjoy finding creative ways to use art as a way to express myself. One of my favorite things about working with children is helping inspire my students to use their own creativity through art projects and activities.

When I am not working, I spend a lot of my free time with my family enjoying the outdoors in the Adirondacks.
