Instructor: Amy Menasche
Learn to create pottery on the wheel in this class for teens ages 12- 16. Master each step from wedging the clay, centering it on the wheel, and shaping it into a form, to controlling the drying process, trimming, and glazing to obtain a finished functional work of pottery. Students will learn from demonstrations, discussions, pictures, and hands on instruction with the teacher.
Is this Class Right for My Child?: This class is intended for any children ages 12-16! No clay or art experience necessary!
What Will My Child Work On?: Students will work on projects that include foundational throwing and handbuilding skills. Students will also have the opportunity towork on independent projects after learning foundational skills!
Materials: Some tools sets are available at the Studio for communal use. Tools are not required for teen classes, however, we do recommend purchasing these tools if your child plans to continue the class for multiple sessions: Suggested Throwing Tools
Firing Fees: Clay, glaze, and firing fees ARE included in class tuition!
