If so, this is the workshop for you!
Join pottery instructor, Kellie Kottmann for a glazing extravaganza! Learn how to create 24+ different glaze combinations with just a few glazes. This workshop will take a deep dive into combining Amaco Honey Flux with Mayco Stroke+Coats, covering color mixing and glaze application to create endless colorful combinations!
Kellie will provide an informational pdf document to all participants including: a step-by-step guide with pictures, color recommendations/mixing guide, shopping list, & project ideas.
All Glazes will be provided for this workshop!
- Railyard Arts has 24+ Mayco Stroke+Coats that are always available for all students or artists to use!
- Amaco Honey Flux will be provided during this workshop but will need to be purchased if using these glaze combos after the workshop).
What to Bring To This Workshop:
- At least 2 bisqued piece with walls at least 2 inches tall (wider pieces like bowls are easiest but mugs and other forms also work!)
- (Optional) Matte Glaze, Engobe, or Underglaze, only if you do not want to leave the bottom of your piece raw/unglazed. You are also welcome to use the underglazes provided by Railyard Arts!
- (Optional) Brushes if you prefer to use your own
- (Optional) Something to write with/on if you plan to take notes
Please note that firing fees are not included in this workshop! Non-Railyard artists and students cannot fire at Railyard Arts.
Beginner potters are welcome but must have previously bisqued fired pieces at least 2 inches tall made. This workshop is intended for potters firing to Cone 6.
