About
Instructor: Kellie Kottmann
Create a cookie keepsake this holiday season at Railyard Arts! In this fun, hands on clay workshop, we will use brown ceramic clay and colorful decorating slips to create a to create one-of-a-kind gingerbread ornaments. Just like real cookies, young artists will start by rolling out their clay and cutting out their shapes! While our cookies “bake”, artists will design their cookie ornaments on paper. After, we will bring these designs to life with colorful decorating slips and underglazes. Unlike traditional gingerbread, these ceramic ornaments will last year after year! Each child will make 2 cookie ornament creations! No art or clay experience necessary! Ages 5+
After the workshop, the instructor will clear glaze and kiln fire all ornaments! Pieces will be ready for pickup within two weeks!
While children create their gingerbread masterpieces, parents and caregivers can join our Holiday Cookie Plate workshop happening at the same time. Create a festive plate to pair with your child’s ornaments! Learn more and sign up here: https://railyardartsstudio.com/product/cookie-plate/
Please note that you do NOT need to have a child signed up for Holiday Gingerbread Ornaments to sign up for Holiday Cookie Plates!
