Handbuilding & Sculpture

Spring 2 Session: May 5th – June 28th (7-8 weeks), No Classes May 24th-27th

Description

Clay can be made into a wide variety of forms from functional mugs and bowls to sculpture of all kinds.  Projects range from flowers to a vase. Learn to make almost anything from figures, animals, and candle holders to abstract sculpture. Beginner projects teach the basic building techniques of coil, pinch, and slab construction with joining, shaping, texturing, and carving. When works are ready, enjoy learning glazing techniques including dipping, painting and using wax resist.

Class includes two hours a week of studio time. Firing fees are not included in class tuition.
