Description
Learn to create pottery on the wheel in these 2-hour classes for all levels, but especially great for those new to working with clay. Come make a variety of projects as you learn to build with this versatile material. Clay is soft and can be molded with your hands into a wide variety of forms from functional mugs and bowls to sculpture of all kinds. Master each step of making a finished pottery piece–from wedging clay, centering & shaping it on the wheel, to controlling the drying process, trimming, and glazing. When works are ready, enjoy learning glazing techniques including dipping, painting and using wax resist. Students will learn from demonstrations, discussions, hands-on instruction, and pictures.
Class includes two hours a week of studio time. Firing fees are not included in class tuition.
